5 stars Kebnekajse II is marginally better than this album, but it still deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Drummer Gunnar Andersson had by now commited suicuide, leaving dhythm duties to Pelle Ekman (who was absent on Kebnekajse II) and percussionist Hassan Bah - resulting in a somewhat looser groove - plus ace bassists Thomas Netzler and Goran Lagerberg. Ingemar Boecker's one compositon on this album is even stronger than the one on KK II, contributing to the justification of this rating. Skanklat till Spelman (theme: some spare change for a poor musician, son?) is a tune I try to turn my nephew on to.
