4 stars Maraton founded in 2010, quickly on stage opening for Muse, A-Ha and Circus Maximus; a first album and a tour with Leprous propels them on a singular current between pop, energetic rock and electric alternative. Innovation, diversity, creation, rhythm, energy, a voice.

'In Syzygy' on an alternative pop-rock base! A spleen post-rock guitar and the magnificent voice of Fredrik which transcends the title, the air mixing genres until the final house. 'Contranym' even more rhythmic, a bit of soft-prog, neo new-wave, disaffected djent, bordering on dancing. 'Non-Euclidean Heart' tune by Simple Minds, Killing Joke, Duran Duran; alternative rock more than crossover, ambient, latent break, backing vocals; the riff nevertheless recalls those of Leprous in softer, on the precursors Linkin Park. 'Blind Sight' with the catchy funky watered-down djent. 'Perdurant Lives' danceable pop rock, full of spirit on a greasy, monolithic, hypnotic synth riff, Leprousian Depeche Mode fusion.

'Boltzmann Brain' Fredrik put forward with his falsettos and a skipping title and a solo by Simen. 'Odradek' trance- based, clear guitar riff, the break arrives, mini showing the prog connotation which wants to be adventurous on a bass and a 10CC-style choir. has no orchestral digression, just a rough associative finale. 'A Body of Your Own' floydian intro, short, muffled voice, ethereal; heartbreaking reverie ballad, classic orchestration but beautiful vibrant composition on Leprous, finale on an operetta Mercury. 'Unseen Color' variegated with Muse sauce, solemn drums at the start; Dantesque progressive evolution all in sensuality.

Maraton breaks the progressive barrier, I chronicle it, it is to say, by offering melodic and energetic titles in which time stops; each does not exceed 5 minutes but the bass, the voice and the synth-guitars combine wonderfully with good colorful breaks-bouncing like each title, talking about the Unknown; a rock in chiaroscuro between sidereal beauty and amalgam, modern rock that reminds me of Leprous and the fabulous Meer, brief captivating gem all the same. The last 2 titles are fabulous and remind me harshly of the fact that I had missed them, in short this chronicle to shock you and encourage you to listen.
