3 stars Well, it WAS the 80's! This is not an excuse for this albnum, just a preliminary fact before I review Ammonia Avenue. This is a typical mid -80's Parsons work similar to Vulture Culture and Stereotemy, very poppy with excellent vocals, as always, and a few instrumentals thrown into the mix. Alan Parsons always was able to come up with great melodies. Great? No. Good? Sometimes. Bad? Sometimes? Terrible? No. I find the best tracks on here to be "Primetime" and "Don't Answer Me" which while being heavyily poppy, are nonetheless very catchy. There is nothing drastic or experimental here, and it is "prog" only in a small relative way, but it does stand up to most other Parson's albums of this period. It is probably about #6 in my mind for Parson's albums in rating. If you like APP you will like this.
