2 stars I've been watching this site for year and found it an inspirational source of information and reviews. I had to join the site today as, by chance, I happened upon the review of TOTT. Have you guys been listening to a different album than me? Overall the album is ploddy, with poor lyrics, "crosses are green, crosses are blue" WTF! In general the whole thing could be improved by playing a x1.5 speed.

DOAV - nice idea which dissolves into childish run-out-if ideas for the last 2 minutes. Why this wasn't paired with Los Endos like on Seconds out, I really don't know.

Entangled - too boring and uninspired. How long can that twanging go on.

Squonk - one of the better ones, but played far too slowly, like wading through mud

Mad Man Moon - the only track on the album, perhaps could only be improve if PG sang it instead of PC

RA&B - One of their poorest songs that does deserve 1 star due to the instrumental

Ripples - ok I suppose, but about twice as long as it needs to be

LE - should be paired with DOAV

Kind of the throw-enough-mud album. Don't get me wrong, I think SEBTP & Foxtrot are two of the best albums of all time and Genesis is one of my favourite bands (up to about 1980). 3 Sides Live is Epic. The tide started to turn at Duke. Abacab - an unfinished album, unrefined, still pretty good though. Genesis - too plastic, Invisible Touch - all plastic... Did they make any more stuff after that?

If they'd have swapped Mad Man Moon for All In A Mouses Night then truly TOTT would be a real turd.
