4 stars This is a companion piece to Hux's "BBC Radio 1967-1971", which collected Peel Sessions and the like from the band from this period. It captures Soft Machine close to the end of Robert Wyatt's tenure in the band - vocals are not in evidence, music in the style of Fourth and most of Third is - with a range of guests to hand, with the early start of the performance actually consisting of an Elton Dean solo piece with most of Soft Machine other than Mike Ratledge sitting that one out before the rest of the band tag in, culminating in a soaring improvisational tour de force.

The Hux version of this release includes a bit of material cut from the earlier Windsong release, and so is the edition to get preferentially.
