5 stars Review #126!

Tangerine Dream and lyrics? Surely, it can't be true, yet it is. And 'Cyclone' is a great album, not something that should happen. 'Bent Cold Sidewalk' kicks off the album, using a plethora of esoteric and interesting techniques to create the best sound possible, such as vocoders, a blend of electronic and acoustic instruments (like that amazing flute), aggressive vocals, pairing drums with Moog (now that's odd), and so forth. Thirteen minutes of bliss. 'Rising Runner Missed by Endless Sender' is very fast paced and fun. It is my least favorite track of this record, but still solid. 'Madrigal Meridian', a sidelong instrumental piece feels like a second 'Phaedra', an electronic epic that still knows to keep the beat flowing. I prefer 'Phaedra', but this track holds up well. Anyways, 'Cyclone', highly recommend to anyone, regardless of if you think you'll like it or not, because you might surprise yourself. Prog on.
