3 stars SOEN tries its hand at a concert filmed during the pandemic with the association of a classical orchestra, 9 musicians and choirs; They thus take up the most popular titles and bring them out ennobled, less heavy and softer; Joel Ekelöf adds languor to his voice to give a spleen atmosphere, as for the last moments of ANATHEMA; the piano and the strings take the orders and retranslate the titles; some titles touch on neo dark prog very far from progressive metal, others with the guitar always present are eyeing post metal. No covers of the titles, just a particular atmosphere of a singular album, almost 80 minutes to sink into an old armchair at the start of the evening, a book or a dram and wait for time to pass; For those who are afraid of brutality SOEN here it's softness on all floors.
