Here is a great example of the overall rating for an album being completely out of whack with what it really ought to be. It is true that if you measure the album on a song-for-song basis, seventy percent of the album is weak, but the remaining thirty percent is on a par with some of the great things done by Pink Floyd, especially the songs Murder, Out of the Blue, and Lets Get Metaphysical. In particular, Murder and Out of the Blue are strong vocals, with Lets Get Metaphysical being a strong instrumental. If you are a fan of Pink Floyd at all, this album is a must, because it contains material that harkens back to some of the earlier things they did. Four stars for SOME excellent songs from the leader of the worlds greatest band.
