4 stars On "Space Revolver", the band got heavier in some moments, bordering at progressive metal although good riffing is never a bad thing. On the other hand, we have jazzier and spacier elements thanks to adventurous saxophone. Flower Kings can even go to an avantgarde prog that feels very free and that's something not many prog bands dare. Most of the time, though, we're confronted with a mature prog inspired by the 70's and yes, you can hear what would be coming in Transatlantic, too. "Dream on dreamer" is an untypical drumless short track featuring saxophone and fret-less bass that leads to a frenzy track called "Rumble fish twist". In the second half, we have a great esoteric synths and emotional guitar solo. The album gets a bit generic towards the end but still good enough and comparably strong as the first two FK albums.
