2 stars Awful remaster. One of the worst I have ever heard. They've completely reworked and changed the entire album and removed loved solos and passages, not to mention the iconic vocals of the title track have been stripped and changed to an "alternate cut".

This went from one of my favorite albums to one of my least liked with the 2022 Remaster.

They gutted the entire song! All the solos are different, the vocals are different, it doesn't have that "full room" 7.1 surround system feel that the original had where it felt like you were sitting in front of an extremely clean drum set with an entire orchestra of synthesizers and analogue instruments... and worst of all they removed the ribbon controller sound effect from the breakdown at around 2:40 from the original.

It feels like some engineer (possibly Roine himself) listened to the orignal, then all the alt takes and decided to remake Unfold the Future with the boring vocals, guitars, synths. Absolutely gutted. Buy the original, run away from the 2022 remaster! But to remove things like that aforementioned ribbon controller sound effect is just a desecration on top of the original.

2/5, would be 1/5 but the original was good.
