5 stars The music of "Gentle Giant" is something very special. You can't compare it to any other band. It is a little bit of symphonic prog, a little bit of eclectic prog, a little bit of Folk-Prog and and and. It's "Gentle Giant-Prog".

"Three Friends" was the first Gentle Giant-album I ever heard. It was for me a very interesting experience and I liked the concept very much (it's about the life of three friends and how they have to go their own ways after school).

On "Three Friends" the music isn't as complex and eclectic as on "In a Glasshouse" or "Octopus" (but it's still very complex) but that makes this album in my eyes more accessible and more pleasant to listen. On the other GG-albums the variety of song-structures and instruments seems sometimes overladen and exaggerated but on "Three Friends" it works all perfect. It's not too less and not too much, a nice experience for all advanced progger and prog-pros.

The best work from GG in my eyes. 5 stars
