RUBYCON

Rubycon starts off with a cacophony of sounds and low key noises, a super sonic sub- space sort of sound, if such thing exists. But if it does not then exist in the metaphysical world it certainly might in the electro world of the Tangerine Dream. Once adapted to the zig zaging mayhem that starts this album up it then launches into a massive beat and a dark and menacing riff explodes and whips up a frenzy of electronica I had never witnessed or heard before. As an introduction to a full Tangerine Dream album I was pleasantly surprized by this turn of events. Not a million miles away from what Pink Floyd laid down on Meddle especially "One Of These Days...". Rubycon is a towering album, not one to judge the Tangerine Dream gang as a whole but a step in the right direction.
