4 stars Well, I didn't know nothing about this band, I just saw the names on the cover and bought it. At first I thought "well, another good album perfectly played and produced, nothing more", but the more I listened to it, the more I needed it. Now I can't keep myself from listening to it at least once a day!!!! I really love it. John' keys are perfectly arranged and never invading or annoying, Mitchell's guitars do always the right things in the right places, Pete's bass is a rhythm machine pulsating throughout all the album. And the great, almighty Chris Maitland is, as always, one of the most undervalued drummers in the modern scene. His approach to the drumkit is kind of unique, never playing just to show his (incredible) technique, never to demonstrate the virtuoso he ie, just he plays in a melodic way that could sometimes recall of the god Terry Bozzio. This team of heroes play something that I would not truly call prog, with the exeption of the opening track, "Losers' day parade". They do something between Arena's melodic prog, Porcupine tree's pinkfloydian approach to psychedelic music and Marillion's classical melodies but all with a unique taste and class that made me love this album totally. Buy or die!!!!! :-)
