5 stars I'll agree with the reviewer stating that this album is minimalistic and repetative, but that is NOT at all at bad label, in the case of this great album by the German electro-pioneers, called Autobahn. When I listen to the title, I really enjoy the trip, I enjoy the repetitive, relatively simple beats and great synth riffs, as well as the plainly simple perceptive lyrics (ex: Die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band, weisse Streifen grüner Rand). I have a feeling that the previous reviewer's view was based solely on side 1 of the album. Side 2 is, on the other hand, much more varied, "Kometenmelodie 1" as well as "Mitternacht" are gloomy, dark, mystic and not-very-beat-orientated kinds of tracks which you also find in TANGERINE DREAM'S, and KLAUS SCHULZE'S catalogue. "Kometenmelodie 2" starts off where the title track left, it's somewhat positive in character, upbeat and contains the BEST (imo) synth riff. The final track "Morgenspaziergang," (the title couldn't be more fitting, it really has the feeling of a morning walk in foggy weather) consists of a fascinating little melody played on the flute accompanied by the piano and some bird sounds, very moody.

This is perhaps KRAFTWERKS best output, it has clues of what to expect on following albums, as well there are moments which remind you of their former albums, I see Autobahn as a bridge between their very experimental free-form, avant-garde past and their elctro-pop future.
