3 stars This is a compilation album which was released to promote Hammill's north American tour of 1978. The track listing includes tracks from "Fools mate, "Chameleon in the shadow of the night", "The silent corner and the silent stage", "In Camera" and "Nadir's big chance". To be honest, I don't think Hammill's music is suited to be compiled as each album has it's own character. Nevertheless I consider this man as the best songwriter in progressive rock scene but is he really a progressive artist ? Sometimes he sounds progressive like on "modern" and sometimes he doesn't like on "Nadirs big chance" but why should anyone care, it's a great song anyway. The songs which appear on "vision" came from albums which were recorded in the time gap between the first and the second period of time during the existince of Van Der Graaf Generator. Obviously his best music was written in this period.
