this is a pretty good album, its like synth era Rush without the synths. Rush turned a little bit away from prog with their music here, and became a little more pop rock. However, the melodiousness and great lyrics make up for this.

The album starts off with Show Don't Tell, a pretty good Rush song, although it's typical of this era. Then comes Chain Lightning, a great melodic song. Track 3, The Pass, is one of my favorite Rush songs, for its emotionally moving lyrics and great melodies. War Paint is alright, but the chorus is what makes this song. Track 5, Scars, is really good, with a rocking memorable chorus. Presto, the title track, is tied with The Pass for best song on the album. Actually it falls slightly short of the Pass, though it is still excellent. Superconductore, I think it is slightly overrated. It is still pretty good though. Anagram (for Mongo) is a great mellow song with clever lyrics. Then comes Red Tide, a super melodic song, very good. Hand Over Fist is another mellow one that I really like. Available Light is OK, but the chorus, which sounds pretty Reggae-ish is cool sounding.

So this is a good album for fans of Rush's 80's stuff, although there is less outstanding material on this one. Stand out tracks include Show Don't Tell, The Pass, Scars, Presto, Anagram, Red Tide, and Hand Over Fist.
