WR's first album is very much a formative effort, conceived in the wake of Wayne Shorter's and Joe Zawinul's tenure in the Miles Davis band. The spirit of "Bitch's Brew" and "In a Silent Way" animates the proceedings, which are somewhat tentative but full of lovely moments. Anyone who likes those two albums would do well to check this one out.
