3 stars The first few times I heard this album were at a friends house in the mid 70's. He had this "super stereo' wih these (as I remember them) 6' tower speakers. Blew me away. So clean and punchy, lovely keyboard interludes, some good lyrical movement...and I don't think it was just the drugs. Being a keyboard player, I always appreciated the work on this album. I also loved the mix on the drums. However,Ii couldn't listen to it forever and I have a;ways found it a bit redundant in it's composition. I just listened to the MP3 of "Illusions...' and found it seeming to be a series of loops. Good loops, but loops non the less. Well played, well produced, but just a bit lacking in inventiveness and improvisation.
