4 stars If you heard Wasa Express and this album for the first time you would find that it would be all over the place in the genre landscape and rather schizophrenic. But if you went to a Wasa Express concert at the time you would understand why.Saw them on several occasions in the mid to late seventies, and they would be excellent. But could also be all over the map with the setlists. They were great fans of The Tubes and that would show at their concerts.Always entertaining and always good fun ,and they would show their musical chops which were excellent.

For the first time they are now adding vocals.

First 2 songs are generic rock songs with vocals and rather uneventful, though I thought Thunderbird was a cover version they actually wrote that one them selves.2 times 2 **. 'Get up' was their own take on disco with a nod to the king of disco at the time Giorgio Moroder, kinda silly, but what the hey 2**.California Sun a cover version that they played live on occasion 2 **.Doing the heavy Hannibal,is where these guys really show their jazz rock fusion chops and is the highlight of this album.5*****.Surfing Mathilda a full tilt surf rock fusion song that surfs.4****.Return of Djingis ,Moonlight Grotesk and Memories are all in the land of jazz rock and is very competent tracks.4 **** each.

So things start of in the party mode, but in the end we all end up in the jazz rock fusion category, and is what they do best really.

Rating ,somewhere between 3 and 4 ****,but since I have a really soft spot for these guys (and 24 minutes of 34 is top notch),I'll give them 4 small ones here.
