4 stars Here I come to lower this album's overall spot on the Top 100 Prog List a little bit. A masterpiece...almost. If you could only remove the 3 minute love bomb that is Phil Collins singing "More Fool Me" this would be about perfect. So close... The only song besides "More Fool Me" that I do not enjoy too much is "The Battle of Epping Forest" which I feel wears out it's welcome. 11 minutes could have been better at around 7 or 8 minutes. Everything else is some of the best Genesis has to offer. It is not my favorite Genesis album (that honor goes to NURSERY CRYME and TRICK OF THE TAIL, but deserves it's spot among the best prog has to offer. Although CLOSE TO THE EDGE is my pick for #1 all-time. A solid 4 star effort (actually 4 1/2), that could have been a 5.
