PROGMAN
5 stars This album in my view put DEEP PURPLE on the map. Alongside PINK FLOYD, DEEP PURPLE are one of my favourite groups.

DEEP PURPLE alongside LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH and IRON BUTTERFLY helped to develop Heavy Rock with Progressive Elements and all these bands do this well.

Heavy Rock eventually became Heavy Metal oh did I mention STEPPENWOLF they also contribute to the development of Metal.

"In Rock" is one of my personal favourite albums and beautifully combines progressive and hard rock, "Chidl in Time" has signs of what a Prog Rock song should be. "Flight in Time" and "Speed King" are fantastic tracks, what more do you expect:

the high powered vocals from Ian Gillan, the wizardary of Ritchie Blackmore's Guitar, and John Lord's impressive loud, heavy Organ playing and is happy to battle the guitar. I also praise Welsh born Roger Glover for his bass playing and Ian Paice's drumming.

DEEP PURPLE are one of many bands in the 60s that helped to develop Prog.

A must have album, 5/5.
