4 stars After having read so many superb reviews on this album and, being a Zappa fan, I paid good money for my cd and set about getting blown away by according to common knowledge one of the very best Zappa line ups. Truly this is a great album but......I find a lot of the tracks are played too fast. This was always a failing with live albums that the bands often seem to have difficulties getting the speed of the rhythm right. Meaning in that sence that all musicians can play their solos etc. at a comprehensible speed. In a nut shell Roxy & Elsewhere sound much better than this album and is far easier to appreciate. Who cares. We all loved Frank for being the one and only Frank Zappa. I am not writing to complain but to state my personal opinion pertaining to this particular piece of Zappa genius.
