4 stars Beauty and strangeness. Robert Wyatt manages to create a quite perfect balance between both impressions in this album. Also, it seems to be simple and complex at the same time : some vocal melodies are easily remembered, while some instrumental passages are difficult to get into.

Moreover, this album has a story to tell, and possesses a particular atmosphere of calm and sadness (don't expect anything grandiose or noisy, it's mainly a contemplative work).

It's an album that will grow over the listener who has enough patience to try and catch its beauty. The more I think about or listen to it, the more stars I'd like to give. I am now between 4 and 5, while after the first listen I would have put 3.
