3 stars With Iscream I feel I'm going to find a band rocking in the edge of prog with crimsonian schemes, a bit dissonant, interesting dynamics, good riffs. But that's only the first minutes.

The first impression with Dome is again interesting, the voice is pleasant in a melancholic mood and keyboards offer a pillow to the rest of the instrumentation, but the edge is lost. A pleasant track but quiet lighter and mellower, though the guitar solos are uplifting and could have been longer, specially the one in the middle section.

Alone is mellower than Dome, and has somehow a floydian atmosphere that reminds me to Us And Them and even Anathema. For me it lacks a bit of passion though the melancholic mood may be appreciated by other people.

Between has a interesting keyboard introduction and the whispering voice is a bit surprising and quite histrionic, a Gabriel-Hamill thing. It's a promise for the song that it's developed a bit further with a good atmosphere but the highest point is not reached.

Madness with the whispering, tortured voice and the rhythm section reminds a bit of Muse but with a retro touch. The final section is really promising with a really boosting bass, though its short lenght is a pity.

Archie is too much lenght and not my cup of tea.

All in all, I find this debut release interesting, a bit mixed bag with mellow sounds and sometimes a bit cold, but the influences showed here and there are promising and some parts could have been really brilliant if they would have been developed further. Sure these guys will do great jobs in the future if they obtain songwriting experience and skill, the sound and atmosphere is great if you're into a melancholic and mellow side of prog.

Thanks to Toni Nurmi, the bassist of Nurkostam, for inviting me to listen to their music.
