4 stars This album is certainly one of the forgotten jewel of the RPI scene.

Ancestry only released two albums during their far too short career. Which is a pity because this album proves the band had something good going on.

The name of the band tells you a lot about the music on this album. The bedrock is hymns and other church music from the European tradition. Add bands like Camel, Genesis and Yes to this mix in addition to Mike Oldfield and older RPI bands like PFM and Banco.

The result is fluid, epic, soothing symphonic prog. No less and no more. The music is based on both tangents and guitars. This album features some good guitar solos. The band perform these songs with no flaws.

The quality is great throughout. A couple of killer tracks would had been great, though. But the music is very fluid and the songs merges into one great piece of music. This is a great album.
