4 stars This was the first Pavlov's Dog album I heard, and that was way back at the beginning of the '80's. Of course I could hear an early Genesis influence, with the interplay of mellotron and acoustic guitar; but, it was the vocals of David Surkamp that made it memorable for me. I immediately thought of Russell Mael (vocalist from Sparks). It was unique; and even more so--because they were an American band doing progressive rock. Quite a rarity for it's time, and an original sound, still even now.
