4 stars To be honest, before listening to the album and after reading the description of the band's music, I expected things to be predictable in a very negative sense. There are so many bands out there that sound the same without giving anything new to music... Fortunately, I was very wrong here.

First things first: this is the debut album of Innosense. Their music can be characterized as melodic prog metal, which sounds like a fine mixture of Conception and Fates Warning with the freshness of a 2011 release. The production of the album is really great, managing to balance guitar and keys and at the same time highlighting the band's fantastic rhythm section. Even though the level of musicianship is really high, these guys do not leave any space for self indulgence. Upon first listen, "Outcast" sounds as the result of serious and hard teamwork (which is often forgotten or overlooked in prog rock/metal music). Whatsmore, this album is one of those rare cases of melodic prog metal that lacks any cheesyness and "easy" choruses.

I can't finish this review without making a special statement on the vocals, which always had a central role in this subgenre. Vasilis Georgiou is a great singer to say the least. His vocal lines and voice remind of Roy Khan and he can really hit those high notes. The warmth of his vocal performance throughout the album is comparable to the great prog metal singers that have inflenced him.

A very good album, recommended to all prog metal fans.

Favorite songs: "Mystify", "At The Edge Of The World ", "The Fall".
