4 stars A little bit closer to a more atmospheric Third Eye Blind with sludge riffs than anything resembling metalcore, "Jupiter" is the album that significantly altered Cave In's style for the better. Running the gamut from moody to inspiring, this is an album that's appropriately cosmic in scope while having a very human core. Like many Cave In albums, it suffers from a few songs that drag on too long as well as some occasionally downright ridiculous lyrics, but this serves as a fantastic entry point for anyone looking to get into this band as well as a fine addition to any space rock lover's collection, thanks to great hooks, emotional vocals that never become whiny and appropriately celestial production.
