2 stars A new name to me. I did an interview with this Hungarian band and downloaded their two free demos. This one is their second demo.

Mytra does instrumental metal with some electronica and symph prog influences. The music is guitar riff based. The music is well played and the sound is also good.

My gripes with this demo is that this is not exactly original music. It is like listening to The Shadows taking on classical music. Well, not quite that bad. But the songs on this demo is unimaginative and very safe. Mytra does not take much chances here. The electronica bits may sound a bit innovative. But Mytra is not alone in adding electronica as spice to some pretty ordinary guitar riffs.

In short, Mytra is playing a far too safe game on this demo. More soul and more identity is required next time around.

2 stars (barely)
