4 stars This is an odd album. The opening track, Un Morceau En Forme De P'che is a fairly straightforward heavy guitar instrumental song, similar to what you might hear on a Joe Satriani album. Marc Mourgues' guitar is good enough to keep the song interesting.

Then, for the next four tracks, the songs veer into various ethnic themes, pasted over similar guitar based rhythms. It's very good, especially with some fine violin and flute added in.

Then, at the sixth track, Little Boy (the next track is Fat Man - get it?), the band changes style again, this time veering into contemprary King Crimson territory, with Fripp/Belew-like interplay, and roaring bass lines that sound a bit like Trey Gunn.

While I like this album a lot, it's the last batch of songs that keep me coming back for more. It's worth searching for.
