5 stars One of the most dramatic and essential French progressive rock albums ever made, and amongst my top 10 albums ever. This album saw Christian Decamps find the perfect combination of Jacques Brel styled vocal- theatre and Peter Gabriel's sophistication and soul. The final 14 minute track also features one of the most incendiary closing epic guitar solos this side of Comfortably Numb. The earlier albums may be more popular with the more traditonal prog fan, as they are more indebted to bands like Genesis, but this album was really a high point in the unique artistic development of this most important of French progressive bands. Also a must for fans of mellotron choirs!
