4 stars Kate isn't a prog rocker. She isn't even a sheer rocker. Her music is sophisticated, emotional pop. Many suggest she's the 'female Bowie'. Why not? Although she refused stubbornly to mess herself with any contemporary sounds of her time. That means she just wanted to be herself. The popular music of her time always gave her a helping hand, but she was never nothing more than herself.

Let's have a look on this particular album. I remember that I bought it on vinyl because I was persuaded that the infamous 'Wuthering Heights' was the best pop song ever written -and still am. I was quite surprised to find out that there was so much more to explore in this album. I instanly fell in love with tracks like 'The man with the child in his eyes' -her best artistic moment in my opinion, 'The Kick Inside' -what a song!- and 'Room For Life'. My brother also loved it immediately and so it became a regular customer in our stereo for the next two months after I'd bought it.

The true magic of the album lies on its sensitivity. It's very hard, hardly impossible to find any other album with such sensitivity and lyricism. It's HER music, HER world, HER emotions and we're all invited to HER party.

So, let's summarize: prog rock? Certainly not. Great music? Definitely. Go and buy a copy of your own, if you don't believe me.
