5 stars I remember seeing this film in the year of 2000 when it was played in a music TV show here in Peru. I had heard of Pink Floyd before I found myself watching "Live at Pompeii", but to be honest it didnt cought much of my attention. It was this film that made me fall in love with the Floyd. I just couldnt belieave such the strenght and the madness in some part opening the way to an extreme peacefulnes. The scenario just let the music wonder around, creating this unique atmosphere; I can't imagine a better place for a pink floyd concert that some ancient ruins. It is also shot beautifuly. The camera movements go increadibly well with the spacy music. Some gorgeous images as well, like the band walking around the volcano, or Waters hitting the gong in counterlight.

Echoes (both parts), A Saucerful of Secrets, wich shows a diffrent ending than the original, for me even more beautiful; and Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun are the highlights. One of These Days is amazing as well but it just has way too much shots of Nick Mason, leaving the others behind. Careful With That Axe Eugene and Mademoiselle Nobs (featuring a singing dog) are great as well.

Although this DVD has a serious problem: the director's cut edition ( I mean, the main setlist) It adds several bad quality and cheesy animations of space, planets and even Pompeii being destructed by the volcano eruption. This lamentable additions dont do nothing but ruin the film mood and continuity. But thankfuly the original version of the film is included in the bonus material.

At the end this is a masterpiece of progressive music and any Pink Floyd fan should have it, just ignore the director's cut edition, and go for the original film in the bonus material.
