4 stars As I've said for other bands, I won't rate albums and groups according to how much they are prog. These are DEEP PURPLE, fellows!!! I bought this one many years ago and I keep on listening: I'm never unsatisfied. Cause a live album by D.P. is not just like rock, hard, prog or metal: it's ART! Powerful solos by the three "old guys": Ritchie, Jon and Ian are in my opinion an encyclopaedia of what rock is. It's not Progressive? And how to call the 15 minutes jam on "You fool no one" or simply the alternating of solo turns on "Burn"? It reminds me Dream Theater twenty years before... without exagerations.

Sound is specific D.P., and I (and maybe everyone) could recognize at first hear. I confess that I prefer the 2nd lineup, but the duo featuring Coverdale-Hughes is not rookie-like... I like the MK3 in a different way I do with MK2. Can you really resist to shake your head listening to David shouting "next song... from the last album... STORM-BRINGEEEEER!!!"

Albums like this did make history and I don't mind which is the title of this site: Made in Europe is definitively a classic, opening the door of progressive. In truth, Prog still existed: but the entire D.P. career is a kind of gigantic path through music evolution in which you can find really everything.... including Prog. Thank you guys!
