4 stars I discovered Threshold fairly late on (Critical Mass) and can't understand why I didn't come accross these guys before. Some say England's answer to Dream Theater, Threshold have evolved into a much more mainstream - almost radio friendly - metal band with a late 80's sound, and occasional prog undertones.

The early work is far more proggy in nature, and not a million miles away from the drama of Queensryche. It's perhaps a little more difficult to listen to, if only (for me anyway) because of the vocalist Damian Wilson on "Wounded Land" and "Extint Instinct". However the reissue of the album Psychedelicatessen just blows me away.

Although the style has dated somewhat, the musicanship, writing and drama demand a listen. The reissue is so much more rich and deep and almost a completely new experience. All tracks are enjoyable and deserved to be played loud with the lights out!

Sunseeker, Tension of souls, Devoted, Intervention are standout tracks... no... they all are!

I stop short of 5 stars simply because it took two goes to get it right.
