NEU! '75

This is one of my favorite Krautrock albums, and maybe one of my favorite albums period. Unlike previous Neu! releases, there is not a second here that seems wasted...the first album had a few meandering ambient pieces and of course "Lieber Honig", and the second had all the sonic tricks on Side 2 - granted, this band was so talented and revolutionary that I can recommend those albums anyway, but THIS is truly their masterpiece. The first half is simply breathtaking..."Isi" STILL sounds about ten years ahead of it's time, and "Leb Wohl" is maybe their best ambient track - and rest assured, Sigur Ros and the like were paying attention. Rother really lets loose on Side 2 - despite "Hero" and "After Eight" being nearly the same song, there's such a great spirit contained within that it never gets tiring. All that, and a "Hallo Gallo"-style piece, too! I highly recommend this.
