5 stars The trouble I have with prog-metal is that so many bands in the genre often descend into too much metal and not enough prog with tracks that could be from any decent metal album. Circus Maximus avoid this failing. Although they produce metal sounds as heavy as anyone, the prog factor is high, especially with the intelligent use of keyboards. There is not a poor track on this cd but 'Sin'(which includes a superb guitar solo),'Biosfear'(a dizzyingly varied instumental) and 'The 1st Chapter'(a marvellous symphonic epic reminiscent at times of Symphony X) are outstanding. In my opinion this is what prog metal is all about.
