4 stars Another awesome offering from Symphony X, who in my mind are one of the greatest acts in Progressive-Metal at this present time. 'Twilight in Olympus' had the unenviable task of being the follow up album to what in my opinion is one of the greatest album of all time for this genre. Despite this, it is still an incredible album, something which the massive sweeping arpeggios from Romeo proclaim right from the start of 'Smoke and Mirrors'. All the musicians are excellent as always, but I preferred Jason Rullo's drumming as opposed to Tom Wallings on this album, and I'm glad they got Jason back after this for their later releases. For a description of the sound, it is not far different from 'The Divine Wings of Tragedy', but perhaps without the same strength from start to finish, or as many stand out songs. There were definately a couple though, and the stand out songs for mine were 'Smoke and Mirrors', 'Church of the Machine', and 'Through the Looking Glass'. This album is a little shorter than their other releases, but with it Symphony X have created another excellent album which is well worth having.
