3 stars This is a nice, eerie disc. The first five movements are like an avant-garde soundtrack to a horror movie played by a string quartet. This is spooky stuff reminiscent of early Univers Zero. (I know I'm going out on a limb, but...) if you are familiar with "Death's Design" from Diabolical Masquerade, this is like 23 minutes of the strings from that album. Sortiége is a free-jazz piece played by dueling bass clarinets.
