Brendan
4 stars Supertramp, the debut album for the band with the same name, is much more progressive than the bands later efforts. But it's a strong album, the production is much simpler, with a seeming 'space' between the instruments. The album also benefits from the fact that the instrumentation and arrangements used were highly inventive. Surely an album combining electric piano, acoustic guitars and flageolet in a progressive setting carries with it an air of distinction. But the best part is that the songs have catchy choruses and strong hooks. About the vocals, it isn't specified who sings what, but it is apparent Rodger Hodgson sings most of the vocals.
