4 stars The first few times I heard this, I would have given it two stars at best. But I went back to it after not hearing it for a while and listened to it on its own terms. And you know what? It is a pretty fantastic album for Camel. I think since I had only heard the previous albums, this was a departure that I was not prepaired for. But there is some excellent material on here. First Light, Unevensong, and the last 3 tracks are some of the best stuff Camel has ever done. The rest is good, though not as exciting to me as the ones mentioned. Sinclair really makes the bass lines worth listening to for the first time in Camels history, and his singing is considerably better than on the previous albums. Mel Collins adds a new dimension with his always excellent sax playing. All in all, one of the better Camel albums. For me, at least, a solid 4 star ablum.
