4 stars When four of the five band members are credited with synthesiser contributions alongside their regular duties, you know you're getting into a synth-heavy affair. Here, Solaris seem to crack the task of coming up with something which feels like full-fat synthesiser-heavy symphonic prog (as opposed to neo-prog) whilst using 1980s synthesisers rather than classic 1970s equipment. The key is to not try and imitate Mellotrons or old Moogs, but to use the modern synths in a modern fashion, working *with* their distinctive sounds rather than seeing those as challenges to be overcome. Seems sensible in principle, but difficult to figure out in practice, but here they nail it.
