3 stars The phoenix rises out of the ashes with this impressive comeback concert by Omega after a six year hiatus. After a couple of disappointing albums in `82 and `86 which experimented with techno-pop stylings the band took a break. If one was following the band chronologically throughout the seventies and eighties like this reviewer, one wondered what to expect.

Fortunately the band decided to perform updated versions of classic tracks and came back stronger than ever with original keyboardist/vocalist Presser Gabor rejoining the band along with a host of guest musicians which added to the spectacle. This first CD from that show does a good job at featuring everything from the late sixties all the way up to Eletfogytig Rock and Roll the power track from 1982s Az arc/Working album. I would highly recomend this live album as an introduction for those wanting to make further explorations into some of the great music this band produced during their peak years in the seventies and to a lesser extent the tail end of the sixties.

The second CD of the concert ( sold separately) contains stuff which is of more interest to the already established Omega fan and includes a guest appearance from Klaus Meine and Rudolph Shenker from the Scorpions which toured as an opening act with Omega during the seventies. Both CDs are high intensity with the band sounding better than ever.
