5 stars 'No Answer' is ELO's only real prog-rock album. '10538 Overture'-A great start for the album. With guitar, french horns, strings, and trumpets. 'Look at me now'-Very melancholic with oboes sounding like Egyptian shawms. 'Nellie takes her bow'-A very good song about a Broadway girl. The strings and horns play well on this song. 'Battle of Marston Moor'-This song uses Baroque instruments and wild cymbals and timpani. Ending with a minor chord! '1st Movement (Jumpin' Biz)'-This is where Roy Wood actually plays classical guitar. It almost sounds like 'Classical Gas'! 'Mr. Radio'-This is where Lynne does a great job with this song. And the instrumental break almost sounds like a George Gershwin song. 'Manhattan Rumble (49th Street Massacre)'-This is a song that is a great instrumental that sounds like a Gershwin song more so than 'Mr. Radio'. Then there is a part where it sounds like a 20's cartoon. 'Queen of the Hours'-A strong cello and double-bass intro and the song slows down in the end, which is cool. 'Whisper in the night'-A great ending for the album. With a guitar sounding like a clestial harp and the strings playing very well on this. A must for any prog-rockers.
