3 stars As an album, you've got to look at it in several different ways:

As an album of 80's AOR - it's not bad
As a Yes album - it's abysmal
As a Jon Anderson solo album - it's above average!

By this time, Jon was heavily into his New-Age-Sun-Worshipping phase and it tells on the music - "Sundancing" and "New Civilization" being the most prominent examples. Compared to such unbearable dross as "Three Ships" or "Deseo", his songwriting is above par and he does manage to knock out a few decent tunes but, however, the good and bad songs are pretty much 1-for-1. Given that half of Toto play on the album, it does end up sounding more like an Anderson-fronted Toto (but even for Toto, the material is above par)

If you can get it on the cheap (and, seeing as it's now out of print, good luck) it's worth a listen. If not, have a hunt around for the less-rare 7"/12" singles of "Hold On To Love" and "Is it Me" - you'll find all the good songs there.
