This album, I think, shows Kate at the peak of her musical career. It is a clever combination of musical genius (eg The Infant Kiss/Night Scented Stock) and commercial success (the wonderful Babooshka/Army Dreamers!)

The whole atmosphere of the album starts with the strangely, bizarrely, illustrated cover which draws you into a variety of wierd and wonderful tunes each penned by Kate in her own unique and origianal way.

The one thing that could have been added to the otherwise brilliant Never for Ever was the wonderful 'December Will Be Magic Again' which I believe was written in the same year but never included on any album. Alas...
