4 stars I have only just got into NEKTAR in October last year.

My first experience of NEKTAR was seeing the band in Brazil in 2005. The Pure DVD being recorded just a short while before in Germany. Pure is just that, a raw and pure representation of the music in its full power.

It is a warts and all performance the band literally recording it the day after they arrived. However the one thing that transmits through the DVD is the energy on stage. The band has taken the music right back to the basics and striped it bare and pure with raw ppower.

Thoroughly enjoyable this WDR TV Rockpalast presentation has now been shown on German National TV no less than 3 times. It shows that Nektar are far from dead and if anything are moving into a new phase in their career, totally revitalised.

Whereas in the past the emphasis was on the Liquid light show etc, which cannot be done now espeically after the Great White disaster, you would never get insurance, now the emphasis is the performance and the music.

Often the band in the past used to play in virtual darkness, now they are right out there showing us what they are doing. With 2 original members and two new members on this DVD the whole thing relates to the past and to the present.

Superbly packaged I love it. The semi acoustic set is a great bonus too.

I whole heartedly recommend this DVD.
