5 stars 'Caution Radiation Area' stands in my desert island selection since I've been listening to progressive music. But my friends, believe me: this is not fusion! This is Miles Davis ('Bitches Brew', 'Agartha', 'Pangea', 'On The Corner'), Herbie Hancock ('Sextant'), John Cage, Edgar Varese, the Mothers of Invention, all mixed with Henry Cow's political strength. Patrizio Fariselli (on keyboards) said that Area was not progressive - they hated that way - but I'm sure (I'll write him) he referred to pomp rock. Sure this album does NOT include pomp rock - maybe it's not rock at all - it's free-form avant-garde, free improvisation jazz-rock with a lot of synthesizer and incredible bass lines... and did you know that Demetrio Stratos was able to sing chords? I saw them on stage in 1977!
