CRIME OF THE CENTURY

In the second half of the seventies, progressive rock became softier, simplier and so more accessible to the common listener.One of such trend exponents were Supertramp.This was the band I really simpatized and among their numerous releases three were and still are my favourites : 'Breakfast' , 'Moments' and 'Century' . This last mentioned is also the one I like least.Only two tracks on the whole album occupied my attention: 'School' , with its nice mouth harmonica intro and Aqualung-like mid section tune and tempo, and the title track with its catchy piano thunder and admirable saxophone ending; when you are listening to it, you can hear and feel all progressive rock music attributes and in my opinion this track is a real prog pearl. Nevertheless, rating whole album material I can not give anything over three stars.
