4 stars "Tang-go" is a double Best of compilation of TD's best tracks of the 90s and the late 80s. To be precise, the correct sub-title should be "1988-1999" instead of "1990-2000", but this does not matter too much. Rather fond of their 70s - mid 80s period, I rarely enjoyed their albums after that period. However, there were sometimes moments I found innovative, enjoyable and noteworthy. Most of these tracks are compiled on this release.

The compilation contains material from late 80's electronica to modern 90s ambient/techno music. The result is efficient and avoids the easy listening and cheesiness in which it could have fallen into. Just listen to pieces like "Mothers of Rain", "Catwalk", "Pixel Pirates" and "Meng Tian" for example of inspired spacey music. Some tracks are remixed or taken from live performances. "Tang-go" really is a good flight over TD's best moments of the end of the century period.
